Calhoun's Jewelers opened its doors in Topeka, Kansas, in August 2004, founded by brothers Doug and Curt Calhoun. Initially located in White Lakes Mall, the store relocated in 2009 to Fleming Place Shopping Center, where it continued to grow. By 2016, Calhoun's had outgrown the shopping center and moved to its current freestanding location at 18th and Gage, where it thrives today.​

Doug Calhoun’s journey in the jewelry business began in 1978 at Wolf’s Jewelers in White Lakes Mall, where he advanced from Sales Associate to Store Manager. In 1985, Doug left Wolf’s to pursue full-time studies in jewelry design and fabrication at Gem City College of Horology. After graduation, he began his career as a subcontracted jeweler. In 1987, Curt Calhoun joined Doug in subcontracting jewelry repair and creation for many retail jewelry stores across Topeka and Kansas City. Seventeen years later, the brothers opened their own store—Calhoun’s Jewelers.

​Today, the Calhoun family tradition continues with Curt’s sons, CJ and Alex, who have also joined the family business as skilled jewelers. In 2012, CJ earned certification from Jewelers of America, becoming Topeka’s only Certified Bench Jeweler. ​​Together with a dedicated team of long-serving employees, Calhoun’s Jewelers brings decades of industry experience to every customer interaction. Many of our team members have been with us since the beginning, and others came with years of jewelry experience, helping us offer expert craftsmanship and personalized service that sets us apart.
